Fabric Description
This lightweight deadstock merino jersey rib was originally produced for Canada Goose and is designed for comfort-focused garment components and stretch areas.
Compared to standard merino jersey, this fabric is produced at a narrower width and offers increased elasticity and recovery. It is commonly used as ribbing for T-shirts and base layers, but can also be used on its own to make lightweight jersey garments such as T-shirts and tops.
Unlike traditional chunky rib knits, it maintains a smooth, jersey-like surface, allowing it to also be used as a standalone lightweight jersey fabric if desired.
The fabric features a fine-gauge jersey rib construction with a smooth surface and a soft, fluid drape. Burn testing and tactile characteristics indicate a merino-rich wool composition, producing the distinctive wool scent and soft ash typical of natural wool fibers.
With a weight of 190 gsm, this fabric is breathable and comfortable against the skin, making it suitable for garments worn in direct contact with the body. The knit offers natural elasticity and likely includes elastane for improved comfort and shape recovery.
As a deadstock material, this fabric comes from unused production runs and is available in limited quantities only.

Can This Fabric Be Used for T-Shirts?
Yes. Although originally produced as a jersey rib to complement merino jersey body fabrics, this fabric has a smooth surface and soft drape that make it suitable for standalone garments such as T-shirts, long sleeves, and lightweight tops, depending on the desired look and fit.
This fabric is designed to pair perfectly with our Merino Wool Jersey fabric already available on the website, making it ideal for sewing coordinated garments using the jersey for the body and this jersey rib for neckbands, cuffs, or hems.

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
