Lined Ripstop | Canada Goose Deadstock

  • Width: 150 cm / 59"
  • Composition:  100% Nylon
  • Weight: 130 gsm - 3.83 oz.
  • Down Proof, waterproof
  • Wind Proof: Also referred to as parachute fabric the ripstop grid integrated within the material provides extra strength and resistance to tearing. This fabric has a very tight weave providing excellent wind resistance.

Quantity: 1 = 0.50 meter / 1 = 0.54 yard

A lined ripstop takes this a step further by adding an inner lining layer — a soft, lightweight material bonded to the back of the ripstop shell. This transforms a purely technical fabric into something more versatile, comfortable, and suitable for fashion applications.

✨ Why Is the Ripstop Lined?

The lining serves several important purposes:

  • Improved comfort: Standard ripstop can feel crisp or rough against the skin. The lining adds softness and makes the fabric more wearable, especially for fashion garments like jackets, skirts, or trousers.

  • Better structure & drape: The added layer gives the fabric more body and shape, which designers often prefer for tailored or fashion-forward pieces.

  • Enhanced insulation: The lining can help trap air and add a layer of warmth, useful for transitional or cold-weather garments.

  • Refined finish: It hides the interior seams and grid texture of the ripstop, giving a more premium, polished interior — a hallmark of higher-end garments.

👗 Fashion vs. Technical Use

  • Unlined ripstop is more common in outdoor gear, utility wear, and lightweight windbreakers, where minimizing weight and maximizing breathability is key.

  • Lined ripstop, on the other hand, is more often seen in premium fashion, streetwear, and luxury outerwear — like pieces from Canada Goose, where both performance and comfort matter. The lining elevates ripstop from a purely functional textile to one that’s suitable for fashion-focused collections.

🪶 Deadstock Canada Goose Quality

Because this fabric comes from Canada Goose deadstock, it carries the same technical performance, durability, and craftsmanship used in their high-end outerwear.

How to sew Ripstop: The fabric comes with minor challenges, but easily overcome them with a few tricks:

  • Use sharp scissors or a rotary fabric cutter to reduce fraying of the nylon. Nylon tends to fray when cut to size for your project.
  • Keep the fabric tight by pulling the fabric on both sides of the needle instead of trying to pull the fabric through.
  • Never pin ripstop nylon. Consider using double sided tape versus straight pins to keep your fabric from slipping as you sew or a glue stick.
  • Don’t be afraid to burn your edges or seams for a sturdy seal. Always exercise extreme caution when attempting this technique.
  • Practice your stitch! Zigzag stitches help keep your seams from breaking when a stretch to the fabric occurs.

Care instructions: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, wash inside out, and avoid bleach or fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low or line dry, and use a cool iron on the reverse side if needed. Do not dry clean.

    PLEASE NOTE

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.

Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.

Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.

We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.

We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.

If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.

Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
