The 226 Princess Slip sewing pattern by Folkwear recreates an elegant undergarment style dating to around 1910, when skirts began to narrow and undergarments became less voluminous. With its graceful princess seams and beautifully detailed neckline, the design can be worn as a traditional slip or transformed into an elegant summer dress.

Classic princess seams create a smooth, flattering silhouette, while the neckline is finished with wide crocheted lace threaded with a narrow ribbon drawstring. The lace-trimmed armholes are finished with bias binding for a delicate period-inspired finish.

The back can be finished with a traditional concealed buttoned placket or with a zipper for a simpler modern closure.

View A is the shorter, modern version and can be worn as a classic slip beneath sheer garments or as an easy summer shift dress.

View B is the traditional floor-length version featuring a wide, lightly gathered bottom ruffle. The ruffle is designed to peek below the hem of a coordinating period gown and pairs beautifully with Folkwear's 227 Edwardian Gown.

For customers in other Canadian provinces, the USA, or internationally, we offer a range of shipping options through various carriers. The customer is responsible for selecting their preferred shipping method at checkout.

In cases of oversized orders, shipments to rural or remote areas, or delivery to P.O. boxes, the final shipping cost may differ. If this occurs, we will contact you directly with the updated shipping cost, which will be the responsibility of the customer.

Please ensure that the fabric has not been washed, cut, or used before contacting us.

DIGITAL PRODUCTS: NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.

If you encounter any issues with your download link or file, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.

PLEASE NOTE

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.

Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.

Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.

We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.

We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.

If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.

Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
