Fabric Selection Tip: Choose a fabric with enough stability to support the pockets and their contents. Lightweight woven cottons work beautifully for the decorative details, while a medium-weight background fabric helps the calendar hang neatly.
Important: This pattern is designed for woven fabrics without stretch. Highly elastic jerseys and other stretch knits are not recommended.

The following materials are specified by Juliana Martejevs for fabrics measuring 140 cm - 55" wide.
Important: The 20 cm quantity is listed by the designer for the fabric used for the scalloped trim and name details. Fabric scraps can be used for the pockets and appliqués, allowing you to combine colours and patterns creatively.
Fabric Cutting Tip: Prewash and dry your fabrics or thoroughly steam them before cutting to reduce the risk of shrinkage after sewing.

This is a home decor sewing pattern. Clothing sizes such as XS–XXXL do not apply.
Pattern Construction Overview
Step 1 – Prepare the Background:
Cut the large background panel from Fabric A according to the pattern. Prepare the fabric, mark the pocket positions and follow the designer's instructions for the required seam allowances and optional hanging construction.
Step 2 – Cut and Prepare the Pockets:
Cut the 24 pockets from assorted woven fabric scraps. Fold and press the upper edges, then finish the pocket openings before attaching them to the background.
Step 3 – Create the Appliqués:
Choose your decorative motifs, numbers and lettering. Apply double-sided fusible web to the wrong side of the appliqué fabrics, trace the templates in reverse and carefully cut out each detail.
Step 4 – Decorate the Pockets:
Position the numbers and chosen festive appliqués on the fabric pockets. Fuse them into place and optionally stitch around the appliqué edges for additional security.
Step 5 – Attach the Pockets:
Arrange the prepared pockets on the background following the pattern layout. Pin them in place and stitch along their sides and lower edges, keeping the upper openings accessible.
Step 6 – Add Personalized Lettering:
Choose the letters required for your name or message. Apply the lettering to the upper section of the calendar using the included alphabet templates and fusible web.
Step 7 – Finish the Decorative Trim:
Apply fusible interfacing to the trim fabric and assemble the scalloped lower border as instructed.
Step 8 – Prepare for Hanging:
Finish the upper edge according to the designer's instructions. If using the optional dowel construction, make sure the upper channel accommodates the dowel and choose suitable hardware for the calendar's total filled weight.

Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
