Pattern Variations
Variation 1 – Tailored Waistcoat:
A traditional tailored waistcoat featuring three welt pockets, a fully interfaced front and side seam vents. This version offers a polished, professional finish and is ideal for sewists interested in developing their tailoring skills.
Variation 2 – Easy Waistcoat:
A simplified waistcoat without pockets or side seam vents. This version uses more straightforward construction techniques, making it an excellent starting point for sewists who want to build confidence before attempting the fully tailored variation.
Recommended Fabrics
Choose lightweight to medium-weight suiting fabrics with enough structure to maintain a crisp, tailored appearance.
Lining: Bemberg rayon lining, polyester lining, satin or other suitable lightweight lining fabrics.
Fabric Tip: For Variation 1, avoid excessively bulky fabrics when constructing the welt pockets. Lightweight to medium-weight fabrics and interfacing will make the pocket construction easier.

The Belvedere Waistcoat includes 8 men's sizes, XS–4XL, designed for a close-fitting, tailored silhouette.

- Suggested Height: 171–188.8 cm / approximately 5'7"–6'2"
Choose your size using both your chest and waist measurements. The pattern can be adjusted between sizes for a more personalized fit.
Fit Note: This waistcoat is drafted to be worn with trousers sitting at the natural waist. If you prefer lower-rise trousers, you may wish to lengthen the waistcoat.

Alternative Back Fabric: The quantities above assume the waistcoat back is cut from lining fabric. To create a contrasting back or a full back in the main fabric, use approximately 0.60 m / 0.7 yd less lining and add 0.70 m / 0.8 yd of contrast or main fabric.
Note: Allow additional fabric when matching plaids, stripes or directional prints.

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.
If you encounter any issues with your download link or file, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
