What is herringbone fabric?

Does this fabric have a backing?
Yes. A stabilizing backing has been applied to the reverse of the fabric, adding body and helping the fabric maintain its structure. The fibre composition of the backing is unknown.
Should this coating be lined?
For coats and jackets, adding a lining is recommended. A lining will conceal the backing and interior construction while creating a more comfortable and polished finish.
Is this fabric suitable for trousers?
At 420 gsm with an applied backing, this fabric is substantially heavier and more structured than typical trouser suiting. It is better suited to coats, jackets, capes and other structured outerwear.

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
