A striking 100% wool designer deadstock coating fabric featuring a graphic black and ivory diagonal stripe design. This fabric is yarn-dyed, meaning the yarns are dyed before weaving rather than the design being printed onto the finished fabric. The contrasting black and ivory yarns are woven together to create the distinctive pattern, giving the fabric beautiful depth, texture and a refined textile appearance.
At a substantial 510 gsm, this is a true heavyweight coating fabric with excellent body and structure. The dense 100% wool construction provides natural warmth, while the substantial hand helps create defined silhouettes for coats, jackets and other structured cold-weather garments.
The black and warm ivory colour palette gives the fabric a timeless monochromatic appearance, while the irregular diagonal lines introduce movement and texture. From a distance, the contrasting stripes create a sophisticated graphic effect; up close, the dimensional surface and individual yarns reveal the character and complexity of the textile.
A stabilizing backing is already applied to the reverse of the fabric. This backing provides additional support and stability to the substantial textured construction, helping the fabric maintain its structure and reducing movement or distortion of the surface yarns. The backing is part of the fabric itself and should not be confused with a garment lining.
As a designer deadstock fabric, this wool comes from surplus designer production and is available only in limited quantities. Once the available yardage is sold, it may not be possible to restock.

Care:

- Press carefully with moderate heat and steam suitable for wool
- Avoid excessive pressure to help preserve the raised surface texture
- Always test pressing on a scrap before working on the finished garment
Sewing Tip: Due to the directional diagonal design, carefully plan pattern placement before cutting and cut all pieces consistently. Consider matching the stripes across prominent seams, pockets and garment fronts. At 510 gsm, choose patterns designed for heavyweight coating fabrics and grade or trim bulky seam allowances where necessary. Although the fabric already has a stabilizing backing, a separate garment lining is still recommended for coats and jackets for comfort, ease of dressing and a polished interior finish.

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
