Designed with a refined collar and collar stand, a back yoke, flat-felled seams and a beautifully curved hem, the Fairfield offers a polished finish that works equally well for casual and formal occasions. Thoughtful details include an optional chest pocket, traditional sleeve plackets and concealed sleeve tabs for securing rolled-up sleeves.
Part of Thread Theory's Cityscape Urban Menswear Collection, this versatile pattern includes two separate sizing blocks to accommodate different body shapes. Choose between a relaxed back pleat or shaping darts for a more fitted appearance, and create a shirt that feels truly made to measure.

Pattern Variations
Variation 1 – Classic Shirt:
A traditional button-up shirt featuring a centre back pleat and optional chest patch pocket. The pleat provides a little extra room through the back while maintaining a clean, classic silhouette.
Variation 2 – Fitted Shirt:
A more tailored interpretation featuring long shaping darts at the back and optional concealed sleeve tabs to secure rolled-up sleeves at the elbow.
Both variations feature a classic collar, button-front closure, back yoke, curved hem and professional shirtmaking details.

Choose lightweight to medium-weight woven fabrics suitable for classic shirtmaking.
Fabric Note: Allow additional fabric when working with plaids, stripes or other prints that require pattern matching.

Size Range & Fit
The Fairfield Button-Up includes two separate pattern blocks designed to accommodate different men's body shapes.
Average Figures – XS–XXL:
Designed for slimmer to average builds where the waist measurement is equal to or slightly smaller than the hip measurement.
Larger Figures – M–4XL:
Designed for fuller builds where the waist measurement is larger than the hip measurement, providing additional room through the stomach.
Chest Measurements:
Average Figures: 92–117 cm / 36.25–46"
Larger Figures: 102–127 cm / 40.125–50"
Fit Note: Choose the appropriate pattern block by comparing your chest, shoulder, waist and hip measurements with the designer's size chart. The overlapping sizes allow you to select the block that best matches your proportions.

Shipping fees are automatically calculated based on the weight of your order, with several delivery options and prices available.
If a carrier does not service your address, we may need to use an alternative option, which could incur additional charges, particularly for P.O. box addresses.
For remote or rural areas where delivery costs are higher, additional fees may apply. In these cases, we will provide proof of the shipping costs to ensure transparency.
Other Provinces in Canada, USA, and International Shipping
For customers in other Canadian provinces, the USA, or internationally, we offer a range of shipping options through various carriers. The customer is responsible for selecting their preferred shipping method at checkout.
Please note that our system provides an estimated shipping cost at checkout, which may not always reflect the actual shipping charges.
In cases of oversized orders, shipments to rural or remote areas, or delivery to P.O. boxes, the final shipping cost may differ. If this occurs, we will contact you directly with the updated shipping cost, which will be the responsibility of the customer.

DIGITAL PRODUCTS: NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS
All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.
If you encounter any issues with your download link or file, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
