Create the foundation for your next lingerie project with these round bra underwires. Designed to sit inside underwire channeling, they help define the cup shape and provide structure beneath the breast when used with a compatible bra pattern.
Available in five sizes, these underwires can be selected to suit your natural breast root and the requirements of your sewing pattern. They can also be used to replace an existing underwire when the shape, dimensions and channeling are compatible.
How to Choose Your Underwire Size
Your breast root is the curved line where your breast meets your chest. To help choose your size, trace this natural curve using a flexible curve ruler or a smooth, flexible tracing wire, then transfer the shape onto paper.
Compare your breast root trace and measurements with the available underwire sizes. Consider the curve, width and height together: a similar overall length does not necessarily mean the same fit. The wire should follow the breast root without resting on breast tissue.
Do not choose by cup size alone. Underwire sizing varies between suppliers, and these Size 1–5 labels do not directly correspond to standard bra cup sizes. Also check your pattern’s recommended wire shape, wire size and channeling allowance before ordering.

How do I find my underwire size?
Trace your natural breast root and compare its curve and measurements with our size references. Check your bra pattern’s wire recommendations as well. Your usual cup size alone is not enough to determine the best underwire.
Does Size 1 mean an A cup?
No. Sizes 1–6 identify the underwires in this range. They do not directly correspond to cup letters or band sizes.
Will these fit any underwired bra pattern?
Not necessarily. Bra patterns are drafted for particular wire shapes and dimensions. Confirm that your pattern is compatible with a round underwire in your chosen size.
Can I use these to replace a broken bra underwire?
Yes, provided the replacement matches the required shape and dimensions and fits the existing channeling. Repair any damaged channeling before inserting the new wire.
What do the coloured tips mean?
The tip colours identify the sizes in this product range. Colour codes may differ between suppliers, so always compare the measurements.
Is underwire channeling included?
Underwire channeling is a separate sewing component. Check the product options and your project requirements before ordering.

Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
