A refined Italian scuba fabric from Nadya Toto designer deadstock in a sophisticated dark navy. Smooth, substantial and beautifully structured, this stretch knit combines a clean surface with the body and flexibility characteristic of quality scuba fabric.
At 270 gsm, the fabric has enough structure to create crisp, defined silhouettes without the stiffness of a traditional woven fabric. Its smooth surface and dense knit construction give garments a polished, contemporary appearance, while the 10% elastane provides flexibility and comfort.
Unlike lightweight jerseys that closely follow the body, scuba has greater body and naturally holds its shape. This makes it particularly effective for architectural garment details, clean seam lines, sculptural silhouettes, flounces, asymmetric hems and other design elements where structure is an important part of the finished look.

Care
We recommend pre-washing before cutting. Machine wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Lay flat or hang to dry and avoid high heat, which can damage the elastane fibres. If pressing is necessary, use low heat and a pressing cloth. Always test your preferred washing and pressing method on a small swatch first.

What is scuba fabric?

Is this the same as neoprene?
No. Fashion scuba is a knitted textile and does not contain the foam layer associated with traditional neoprene. It offers a similar smooth, structured appearance while remaining more appropriate for garment sewing.
Does this fabric stretch?
Yes. This scuba contains 10% elastane for flexibility and stretch. We recommend testing the actual stretch percentage before choosing a pattern that specifies a minimum amount of stretch.
Is scuba suitable for dresses?
Yes. Its combination of stretch and structure makes it particularly well suited to fitted dresses, fit-and-flare silhouettes and dresses with sculptural details such as flounces or asymmetric hems.
What does designer deadstock mean?

Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
