The Split Star Quilt by Copper Kettle Quilt Company is a playful, modern quilt pattern featuring beautiful geometric star blocks that can be arranged in different ways to create a unique patchwork design.

Suggested Fabrics
This pattern is designed for stable woven quilting fabrics with a minimum width of 42" (107 cm). Quilting cotton is an excellent choice for creating precise star points and crisp geometric blocks.
For colourful star blocks:
- Quilting cottons in coordinating colours and prints
- Cotton poplin
- Fat Eighths or Fat Quarters in complementary colours
- Contrasting solid-coloured woven cottons
For the background:
- Solid-coloured quilting cotton
- Light or neutral cotton for a soft, balanced look
- Low-volume prints for subtle texture

For the patchwork borders:

Runner Quilt – 56" × 20"
Feature Fabrics:
- 5 Fat Eighths measuring 9" × 21" each
Additional Fabrics:
- Background: 7/8 yd (approximately 0.80 m)
- Binding: 1/2 yd (approximately 0.46 m)
- Backing: 1 5/8 yd (approximately 1.49 m)
Baby Quilt – 44" × 44"
Feature Fabrics – Choose One:
- 9 Fat Eighths measuring 9" × 21" each
- OR 5 Fat Quarters measuring 18" × 21" each
Additional Fabrics:
- Background: 1 1/4 yd (approximately 1.14 m)
- Binding: 1/2 yd (approximately 0.46 m)
- Backing: 3 yd (approximately 2.74 m)
Important: When using Fat Quarters for the Baby quilt, the designer requires an additional 5" fabric scrap or a 2 1/2" × 10" strip cut from the binding fabric for the patchwork border.

Precut Note: Fat Eighths must provide at least 9" × 21" (approximately 23 × 53 cm), and Fat Quarters must provide at least 18" × 21" (approximately 46 × 53 cm) of usable fabric. Undersized precuts will not provide sufficient fabric.
Please Note: Fabric requirements assume a width of 42" (107 cm). The designer includes an additional strip of the widest required width-of-fabric cut to allow for cutting mistakes. Additional fabric may be necessary for shrinkage or directional prints.

Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.
If you encounter any issues with your download link or file, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
