Design Details
Curved Front Panels & Welt Pockets:
The Oana Coat features beautifully shaped front panels with integrated welt pockets. Their rounded construction creates a distinctive design detail while providing practical storage for everyday essentials.
Curved Back Shoulder Yoke:
A decorative curved seam crosses the upper back, coordinating with the front panels and adding visual interest to the otherwise classic coat silhouette.
Rounded Shirt-Style Collar:
The gently rounded collar offers a soft, refined alternative to a traditional notched coat collar. It can be interfaced when necessary to provide additional structure.
Tailored Sleeves & Wrist Tabs:
The two-piece sleeves provide a tailored finish, while the decorative wrist tabs and buttons add character to the cuffs.
Fully Lined Construction:
The entire coat is lined, including the sleeves, for a clean interior finish and comfortable layering over clothing. The construction guide walks through assembling the lining and attaching it to the outer coat.
Recommended Fabrics
The designer originally made the Oana Coat using a wool fabric and recommends a variety of woven outerwear materials. Choose a fabric with enough body to support the decorative curved panels while providing the drape and comfort desired for your coat.
Lining Fabric: Choose a smooth, lightweight woven lining fabric that allows the coat to slide comfortably over clothing. Suitable options may include polyester lining, viscose lining or other dedicated garment lining fabrics.
Important Fabric Consideration: Because this design includes curved seams, welt pockets and a fully lined construction, the thickness and flexibility of your chosen coating fabric will influence how easily the coat can be assembled. Test bulky seam intersections before sewing.

The following quantities are provided by Cha'coud for fabrics measuring 140 cm / 55" wide.
Outer Coat Fabric

- Sizes 42–52: 2.50 m / approximately 2.73 yards
Lining Fabric
- Sizes 34–40: 1.50 m / approximately 1.64 yards
- Sizes 42–52: 2.00 m / approximately 2.19 yards
Note: These fabric requirements are based on the original designer's instructions. Additional fabric may be necessary for directional prints, matching patterns, adjustments or fabrics with different widths.
Additional Supplies & Notions
- Buttons: 7 buttons measuring approximately 25 mm / 1" in diameter
- Fusible Interfacing: Suitable interfacing for the collar, with optional additional reinforcement where needed
- All-Purpose Sewing Thread suitable for the chosen fabric
- Sewing Machine Needles suitable for the weight of your coating fabric
- Fabric marking tools, pins or clips
Sewing Tip: Take particular care when assembling the rounded front and back panels. The instructions explain how to sew opposing curves, construct the welt pockets and assemble the coat lining for a professional finish.

The Oana Coat includes 10 European women's sizes, from 34 to 52. The designer's measurement chart is based on a reference height of approximately 165 cm / 5'5".

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.

We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
