The Steeplechase Leggings PDF Sewing Pattern by Fehr Trade is a close-fitting activewear pattern featuring an innovative inseam-free design. Instead of traditional inseams, a curved outer seam travels from the back ankle to the centre front, where it meets a separate yoke for a distinctive, performance-focused look.
Choose between three lengths — biker shorts, capris or full-length leggings — and add the optional hidden back pocket for securely carrying small essentials. An elasticated waistband keeps the leggings comfortably in place during running, workouts and other active pursuits.
The pattern is drafted with negative ease, with the finished garment measuring approximately 90% of the corresponding body measurements. The biker shorts finish approximately 13 cm (5") above the knee, while the capris finish approximately 8 cm (3¼") below the knee.

Recommended Fabrics
The Steeplechase Leggings require Lycra jersey with at least 50% stretch in both directions and good recovery.
Wicking Lycra and other high-recovery activewear jerseys are ideal for this close-fitting performance design.
Fabric Requirements
- Full-Length Leggings: 1.2 m (1⅜ yd) of 150 cm (60") wide Lycra
- Capri Length: 1 m (1 yd) of 150 cm (60") wide Lycra
- Biker Shorts: 70 cm (⅞ yd) of 150 cm (60") wide Lycra
Fabric must have at least 50% stretch in both directions with good recovery.

We’ve recently updated our shipping options to give you more flexibility and competitive rates. At checkout, you can now choose from multiple carriers — including Canada Post, ICS Courrier, Canpar, Purolator, FedEx, UPS, and more.
Shipping fees are automatically calculated based on the weight of your order, with several delivery options and prices available.
If a carrier does not service your address, we may need to use an alternative option, which could incur additional charges, particularly for P.O. box addresses.
For remote or rural areas where delivery costs are higher, additional fees may apply. In these cases, we will provide proof of the shipping costs to ensure transparency.
Other Provinces in Canada, USA, and International Shipping
For customers in other Canadian provinces, the USA, or internationally, we offer a range of shipping options through various carriers. The customer is responsible for selecting their preferred shipping method at checkout.
Please note that our system provides an estimated shipping cost at checkout, which may not always reflect the actual shipping charges.
In cases of oversized orders, shipments to rural or remote areas, or delivery to P.O. boxes, the final shipping cost may differ. If this occurs, we will contact you directly with the updated shipping cost, which will be the responsibility of the customer.

All orders shipped outside of Canada — including to the United States — may be subject to import duties, customs fees, taxes and other charges assessed by the destination country’s customs authorities. These charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost and are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Failure to pay such charges may result in your order being returned or abandoned by the carrier, and no refunds will be issued for duties or unused shipping fees.

DIGITAL PRODUCTS: NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS
All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.
If you encounter any issues with your download link or file, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
