The Tenacity Leggings PDF sewing pattern by Fehr Trade is a beginner-friendly activewear pattern designed for sewing close-fitting leggings, capris and biker shorts.
With no side seams to interrupt bold prints, a wide high-rise waistband with hidden elastic and an optional crotch gusset for greater freedom of movement, Tenacity is a versatile pattern for creating your own workout and running gear.
Choose between a wide wraparound mesh pocket or a hidden back pocket, then select your preferred length: full-length leggings, capris or banded biker shorts.

The shorts finish approximately 12 cm (4¾") above the knee, while the capri length finishes approximately 8 cm (3⅛") below the knee.
Skill Level
This pattern is suitable for beginners with some previous garment-sewing experience. No previous experience sewing stretch fabrics or activewear is required.

Recommended Fabrics
This pattern requires a stretch fabric with excellent recovery and at least 50% stretch in both directions. It is drafted with negative ease to create a close fit similar to ready-to-wear compression activewear.
Recommended fabrics include:

- Polyester/elastane activewear fabrics
- Nylon/elastane activewear fabrics
For the optional pockets, use stretch mesh with at least 50% stretch in both directions.
Supplies
- 150 cm (60") wide Lycra or activewear fabric with at least 50% stretch in both directions and excellent recovery
- 0.2 m (¼ yd) stretch mesh for either optional pocket
- Fold-over elastic (FOE) for the top edge of the optional mesh pocket
- Waistband elastic in your preferred width
- 2 cm (¾") soft braided elastic is a good beginner-friendly option
- Twin needle or coverstitch machine for hemming the full-length and capri versions
A twin needle or coverstitch is not required for the shorts.
Pattern Details
Seam allowances of 1 cm (⅜") are included except where otherwise indicated for the mesh pocket. A 2 cm (¾") hem allowance is included for the full-length and capri leggings.
The instructions also include diagrams for common fit adjustments.

If a carrier does not service your address, we may need to use an alternative option, which could incur additional charges, particularly for P.O. box addresses.
For remote or rural areas where delivery costs are higher, additional fees may apply. In these cases, we will provide proof of the shipping costs to ensure transparency.
Other Provinces in Canada, USA, and International Shipping
For customers in other Canadian provinces, the USA, or internationally, we offer a range of shipping options through various carriers. The customer is responsible for selecting their preferred shipping method at checkout.
Please note that our system provides an estimated shipping cost at checkout, which may not always reflect the actual shipping charges.
In cases of oversized orders, shipments to rural or remote areas, or delivery to P.O. boxes, the final shipping cost may differ. If this occurs, we will contact you directly with the updated shipping cost, which will be the responsibility of the customer.

All orders shipped outside of Canada — including to the United States — may be subject to import duties, customs fees, taxes and other charges assessed by the destination country’s customs authorities. These charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost and are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Customers agree to pay any duties, taxes, fees, or charges required by the destination country in order for customs to release the package. Failure to pay such charges may result in your order being returned or abandoned by the carrier, and no refunds will be issued for duties or unused shipping fees.

All of our sewing patterns are sold as digital PDF files and are delivered instantly after purchase.
Because digital products cannot be returned once downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any PDF pattern purchases.
Please make sure you have the correct email address and a device that can open PDF files before completing your order.
If you encounter any issues with your download link or file, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We strive for excellence in our products and customer service, but some imperfections may occur with fabric.
Please note that stains, holes, or blemishes within 3 inches (10 cm) of the edge are considered acceptable. Missing or pulled knit stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that do not distort the face are also considered acceptable. Additionally, fabric cut at 1 to 3 cm from the edge is acceptable. Stains on the inside of the fabric are also acceptable if they do not appear on the right side.
Please be aware that fabric may shrink after the first wash, so we recommend purchasing slightly more than the exact length required for your project.
We cannot cancel or refund orders once we've cut your fabric. If a refund is necessary, a 5% administration fee of your total bill will be charged.
We cannot offer refunds or compensation for items purchased a few days before they go on sale.
If a product is sold out, we'll contact you immediately to offer either a refund of the item at the price you've paid or a replacement with a product of equal value.
Please note that monitor or device settings may affect how you view product colours on our website. We cannot issue a refund if there are discrepancies between the product image and the actual colour.
